Building at the infrastructure layer of the web.

Principal Product Manager at WebPros, building agentic AI and WordPress products for the hosting industry. Two decades founding, scaling, and modernising the companies the web runs on, from Magento hosting to WordPress to AI.

Background

Close to twenty years building at the infrastructure layer of the web has taught me one thing: the best products are never built in a vacuum. They are born at the intersection of deep community understanding and sharp technical execution.

I started by founding Aspiration Hosting in 2008. What began as a bootstrapped startup became a premium Magento hosting brand serving clients across five continents. I was embedded in the Magento ecosystem, eventually recognised as a Magento Master, and led the company through to a successful acquisition in 2017.

After the exit I moved into product leadership, joining MDDHosting to modernise the platform from legacy shared hosting to a cloud-native model. That set me up for Cloudways, where I guided its WordPress automation strategy through the company's $350M acquisition by DigitalOcean, launched WordPress SafeUpdates, and led Cloudways Autonomous, a Kubernetes-powered managed hosting product that removed manual server scaling for agencies.

At ImprovMX I ran the full product function as Head of Product for a high-volume SaaS email platform. In eighteen months: 40% revenue growth and a user base doubled to 200,000 and beyond.

Today I am a Principal Product Manager at WebPros, building agentic AI and WordPress products for hosting providers. The role brings together product strategy, technical depth, community insight, and hands-on execution. I work closely with engineering and prototype directly, turning emerging technology into products that hosting providers can confidently bring to their customers.

The through-line is the same: understand the community, ship what people will use, and build for the wave that is coming. Conversations at CloudFest and WordCamp, and in communities such as Making WordPress Slack and Post Status, often reveal context that structured research alone can miss.

My projects

Independent publications I founded and operate. Both run on an agentic editorial system I designed and keep in production: it verifies claims against primary sources, applies editorial policy, and rejects most of what it considers before anything is published.

WPWithinWPWithin

Practical WordPress intelligence for site owners, agencies, and hosting professionals.
